Mackenzie Golf Bags

"The year was 1985. A professional golfer named Peter Jacobsen was on a trip to Scotland with his brother. Upon arriving at the Old Course, the caddie master assigned the brothers a man named MacKenzie and instructed him to carry their bags for the week. MacKenzie took one glance at the Jacobsen brothers' over-sized tour bags and shook his head.

With his meaning well-understood, MacKenzie transferred, very carefully, only the essential items from each brother's bag into a single leather pencil bag roughly a fifth of the size. And with that, they set off for the week. Long story short, upon returning to Oregon, the brothers promptly commissioned a local leather craftsman to make a beautiful, uncomplicated leather golf bag inspired by the simple bag Rick MacKenzie was carrying. And with that, the Mackenzie Walker was born."

We were able to sit with Nic Mulfler, President of MacKenzie Golf Bags and talk shop. The soul behind Mackenzie is "take less stuff, walk more often". This speaks to the historic ways of playing golf, as well as the renaissance of walking golfers everywhere.
